Today was Pampa Fraig's 60th birthday. It was kind of a hard day for me, in fact a lot harder than I expected it would be. I thought about him all day long, and wished that instead of recalling the precious few memories that I have of him, that I was helping to plan a HUGE birthday party that he would have hated every minute of!
I ran out of dishwasher tabs, so I used that as an excuse to get out of the house and run to Wal-Mart. As I walked in to buy the dishwasher tabs I decided that I would also buy Pampa Fraig a birthday present. Keric and I walked back to the ballon area of Wal-Mart and we picked out a balloon for Pampa Fraig.
Craig and I always had a little banter going back and forth about sparkly things and my love for anything that sparkled. He would always tell me of the many things he "almost bought" me while at the store, because they sparkled and reminded him of me. I picked out a balloon that was manly enough, but also sparkly enough so that he would be sure to know that it was from me.
As Bubby and I were checking out the cashier said, "It must be your little boys birthday today." I had to kind of choke back some tears, but somehow I was able to audibly say "No, it's his Grandpa's and we're on our way to go and give a balloon to him". I'm sure she wondered why this was tear worthy, but oh well...
We drove up to the cemetery and put the balloon on his grave. I let Bubby crawl around and play for a little while and I just sat quietly and cried to myself for awhile. It doesn't make him come back to us, but it made me feel a little better knowing that Bubby and I got to spend a little time with Grandpa on his birthday.
Happy Birthday Craig! I hope someone up there is throwing you a HUGE party, because if not, I'll be sure to make it up to you when I get there! xxoo

This is Bubby's new form of movement. He gets himself in a vertical position on the couch, then he screams and makes his whole body stiff until he "falls" down off the couch. Then he happily crawls away! It's really not a favorite past time game for his Mommy, and really not a very becoming look for him!

The YM and YW in our ward had been planning on going up to the Oquirrh Mountain temple open house today for our combined activity. We had 40 tickets, so we were able to take pretty much anyone who wanted to go in the ward.
Chris and I decided to take the kids to see the temple. So we loaded up in the car and went up with the YM and YW. I had to go anyway since I am in the YW, so since we had extra tickets it worked out well.
We stood in line for a really long time, and Bubby wasn't as "reverent" as I hoped he would be, but all in all it was a really nice night. The kids seemed to really enjoy touring the temple and looking at all the beautiful things. When we walked into the temple there was a huge chandelier that of course sparkled like Diamonds, and Mae Mae said "That is the most beautiful light I have ever seen!" She loved all the sparkly lights and the mirrors that go on forever. For whatever reason Bubby really liked the baptismal font. He kept pointing and saying "ooooo" it was kinda funny.
By the time we got out of the tour and made our way down to our car it was pretty late, so our pictures are all in the dark. I hope it's a day that they will remember for a long time, I know I will!

WHIZ BABY is the caption for this photo!
I guess I should just stop trying to "force" things with this kid, and just let them happen when they happen. I get all paranoid and anxious when someone else mentions that maybe, just MAYBE he is old enough to be doing X Y or Z so I start forcing the issue on him thinking I can "fix it". Well I guess I can't and I need to stop it!
Easier said than done, but exhibit "A" proves my point! I have been trying for almost 2 months now to get Keric to drink out of a sippy cup. I have bought every kind of sippy cup there is for him to try (and trust me there are a lot of them out there) and he has wanted NOTHING to do with any of them.
The other day Chris bought him this sippy cup. We have one exactly like it, only it's a different color. Tonight Chris got the kids all drinks for dinner and put Bubby's juice in his new blue sippy cup. I just rolled my eyes and prepared myself for the big hurl it was about to take in my direction. Next thing I knew...Bubby was drinking his juice out of a sippy cup! He just picked it up and started drinking it! No fuss, no fighting, no throwing, no nothing!
Is it me??? Is it the color of sippy cups I've been buying? Whatever it is, apparently it has now been resolved. I seriously have the most stubborn child on the planet! You'd think he had been drinking out of sippy cups his whole life the way he drank that juice last night!

Chompie decided to be a "bad" doggie so he was banned to outside for awhile. Poor Bubby was a little upset about this. I had to finally bring Chompie in, because I couldn't stand the two of them barking and screaming at each other though the door! "A boy and his dog"...I don't think I truly ever understood the meaning of that statement until these two came along.

Bubby LOVES to pull himself up to anything and everything. He really loves to be standing as much as possible! This morning after his bath he was crawling around our room playing with Chompie while we were getting ready. I could hear him laughing so I peeked around the corner to see what they were up to. This time the laughing had nothing to do with Chompie, but with his new friend..."the baby in the mirra" as my mom would say. He was laughing and giving the baby kisses and having just a great time with his new friend. It was really quite funny to watch. I always wonder if they really DO know that they are looking at their own reflection and if it is just the poor kids fool parents who think they have found a "new baby" to play with. Guess we'll never know huh?

Have you ever had one of those days were you were just CRANKY for no apparent reason?? Maybe you had a bad dream, or you were too hot, or you just plain woke up on the wrong side of the bed. That was kind of poor Bubby's day today. He woke up around 8:15 a.m. or so, and was just mad! He is usually so happy when he wakes up, but he wasn't this morning. I changed his diaper, and tried to snuggle him and play with him, but he just wasn't having it. He was acting like he wanted to go back to bed. I made him a bottle and put him back in his bed thinking he would maybe fall asleep for another hour or so and be happier when he woke up later. We didn't see him awake again until 1:30 p.m.! We both kept going in and checking on him, thinking SURELY he was awake by now, but he was out! When he finally did wake up he was happy, so that was good. We had lunch and played for awhile, but then around 5 or so, he started throwing more tantrums, and acting like he was tired again. I thought that by putting him in his bed maybe he would straighten up, but he fell asleep AGAIN for another hour or so. Guess it was just "one of those days"! Poor Bubby.

Yesterday I had YW and this morning I had a funeral to go to, so poor Chris has ended up being alone with Bubby for several hours while trying to work. Since Bubby has been banned from movie theaters until further notice, I told Chris to go to the movies with his family and I would stay home with the little monster. We had a fun time watching cartoons, and playing while Daddy was gone. He loves to play with the camera, so I took some pictures of us together. He thought it was rather funny, although he still wouldn't look at the camera. He is getting so cuddly...I love how he makes his way over to me, and stands himself up, and then puts his little head on my shoulder.

He's afraid of the sippy cups, but yet he'll put his hand in Chompie's water bowl, and then lick the water off his hand!! Maybe if I could get Chompie to drink out of a sippy cup, my problems would be solved! I actually took this picture so that I could remember the funniest part about the whole water bowl thing. I have been noticing that he will crawl right up to the bowl, and then sit and stare at it for a minute. He'll look right at me and then stick his hand out and ALMOST touch the water. Then he will yell "AHHHH" and take his hand away. I guess I may be yelling "NO" a little too much and a little too loudly when he gets into the dog dish and water. Too bad it still doesn't stop him from doing either one!

Sippy Cup Failure Number 2!! While we were on vacation Bubby learned how to drink from a straw. He was doing so good with his little juice boxes! We were so proud of him! He could actually drink out of something OTHER than a bottle. While I was in Wal-Mart today I found some sippy cups with straws! I was so excited. I thought this was the answer to the sippy cup problem! Well as you can see...I failed yet again! Bubby took two sips of it, looked at it, and tossed it off the highchair onto the floor! I tried to get him to try it again, but every time I would hand it to him, he would toss it back onto the floor. Maybe he will just never drink from a Sippy Cup? I don't know..but it's not from a lack of trying!

"Reunited and it feels so good!" Bubby was so excited when we picked up Chompie yesterday. I think they actually really missed eachother. I had to spend the entire day unpacking, doing laundry, and all the other "Fun" things that come along with coming home after a vacation, and Chompie and Bubby just played together all day long. I'm glad they have eachother!

On the road again!! We got up and had breakfast, and then we got back in the car and made the other half of our journey home. The kids were really good and we got home around 7 p.m. which was nice because we still had time to unpack the car, and kind of get settled back in at home. We had a GREAT time, but are glad to be back home. Thanks for a wonderful vacation Mamma Anne!

We packed up our stuff and headed for home today. We only drove half way today. We stayed over night in Las Vegas. We let the kids swim in the pool, and then we went to Circus Circus and played lots of carnival games. They won SO MUCH stuff! I am still not sure who had more fun playing the games and winning prizes...Cam and Reag, or Chris. haha

Today was our last day in CA and our last day at Disney Land. We spent the morning in Toon Town meeting characters and getting autograph's and then we went over to California Adventure and rode rides. Bubby wasn't too sure about meeting the characters, but funny enough he LOVED meeting Minnie! Maybe he truly IS a ladies man?

Today was our first day at Disney Land. We were all very excited...even us "old" people as we pulled up into the HUGE parking lot and made our way to the park. It was of course very hot, and we stood in lots of lines, but I think the kids had a fun time. I was surprised at how many rides Bubby was able to ride. There is still so much more to do, but we had to quit sometime. The kids were all having meltdowns from the heat, and from being so tired!

Today we spent most of the day at Chris' Aunt Karma's and Uncle Ken's. After we had brunch at their house, we went and spent some time on the beach. We had a really fun time. Carlsbad is seriously the PERFECT weather. Bubby wasn't too sure abou the ocean. He didn't like the water splashing up on him, but if I held him, he was fine. Cam and Reag tried Boogie Boarding, and actually were really good! Cameron was pretty much an expert by the time we were done, and Reagan did a great job her first time, but she kind of got swallowed up by a wave her second time, and then she had had enough. I think we'll go back to the beach another day we had such a fun time!

We made it to Oceanside CA around 3 p.m. We found our house that we rented, and then headed to Chris' cousin Kevin's wedding. Weddings are really really hard with kids, especially after they have already been in the car for 6 hours! They were better than I probably would have been at that age!
They had the reception in this really beautiful yard! It had the coolest things in it. Bubby was crawling around on the grass and wound up sitting by a lemon tree! I don't know that I have ever even seen a lemon tree! So I had to get a picture of him under his lemon tree.
June 10, 2009
We stopped in Vegas on the way to CA and spent the night. We of course had to do a few Vegas things while we were there. I almost thing Cameron and Reagan were more excited to go to Vegas than they seem to be about going to Disney Land. :)
We decided to hang out at Ceasers Palace. I have never been there, and it was very well worth the trip! We got to walk around all the amazing stores! I was way too afraid to actually step foot in any of them, but it was fun to window shop and see ACTUAL Louis Vitton hand bags, Gucci, Dolce and Gabana, and my most FAVORITE of all stores, Jimmy Choo!! Oh the shoes in there were so cool! One day I WILL own a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes! :) My favorites were the Zebra shoes made out of real Zebra fur. So fun!

The house we are renting in CA doesn't have a crib for Bubby so we bought him a little pack and play to bring with us. I found one at the Sweet Pea Boutique here in Tooele for $29! I was pretty excited since they are about $100+ at Wal Mart! It looks like it has only been used a handful of times, so I think we got a pretty good deal considering Bubby himself will most likely only use it a handful of times.
I stuck him in it today while I was doing some last minute packing to let him kind of play in it and get used to it. He hates the one at my mom's house, but I think it's mostly because the only time we put him in it is when he needs to go to sleep. I didn't expect he would sleep or anything, I just didn't want him to be upset by it when we got it out for him to sleep in tomorrow night. He seemed to be having playing in it, and pushing his hands and face up against the little mesh holes and then laughing.
The funniest part was how concerned Chompie seemed to be about the whole thing. True to Chompie form, he was right there to guard his Bubby and make sure no harm came to him in the pack and play. He sat right up by the mesh and stared at Bubby until I took him out. I can't believe how much those two love each other! It's so sweet to watch some days!

I am so used to Keric being so into everything, and all over the place lately, that it took me back a little to see him just lying on the couch, or lying on the bed and doing pretty much nothing. I knew he must not feel well, he just wasn't acting like himself at all! Poor little guy has had a fever, and no appetite what so ever. I hope he gets to feeling better soon, seeing as how we are LEAVING for CA.
As much as I complain about what a little Monkey he is, and how he is just into everything and going everywhere, I truly missed chasing him down today. Feel better my little man! I love you!

This is a new game that Keric has come up with recently. It's called climbing out of my highchair and onto the table so that I can crawl around all over the table and scare the crap out of my Mommy!!
I HATE this game, and have since had to put, as my Dad would say, the Kibosh, to it! He is now strapped in TIGHTLY to his highchair and I just put up with the screams of discontent that flow freely from his mouth. What a Monkey!

Happy Birthday to me!! I hate the fact that I am now officially 34 years old...but despite that, I had a wonderful day! Chris went in to work late, so we got to spend most of the morning together which was nice. Keric was SUCH a good boy today which honestly is a little abnormal for a Monday...I had so much fun with him all day today. I got so many nice phone calls, e-mails, and text messages from all my friends and family! I got to hang out and eat a really yummy ice-cream sundae with one of my very good friends, take Keric swimming later on at Desert Peak with Cameron and Reagan and their Mom who also has a birthday today. :) Eat Cafe Rio, my most favorite of ALL foods in the world I think AND watch a movie! It was a very fun and FULL day, so fun and full that I almost forgot the fact that I am truly OLD now!

Tomorrow is officially my birthday...even though I am trying to forget that...however I got to do my celebrating today. Chris made me a really yummy dinner, BBQ chicken and salmon with corn on the cob, salad, and the best flippin cake I have ever eaten for dessert! Holy crap I think it has 8000 calories per slice, but WOW was it good!
The best part about it, was it was totally made up! He just went to the store and found all the things I love, and stuck them in a cake. :) Chocolate cake, cheesecake filling, cherry pie filling, chocolate frosting, and whip cream on top. SOOO good! I think I will request it for my birthday EVERY year! It's a cake you should probably only HAVE once a year.
Thank You Honey for always making my birthday's so memorable and special! I love you!

I don't know why...maybe it's a boy thing, but this is Keric's new favorite place to play! Under the table, or under a chair. Nevermind that he bonks his head a couple hundred times...he crawls right back under there and plays. Maybe it's because he finds pieces of dog food under there!? haha ( I have to laugh to keep from crying!)
