I had to cheat a little bit on my picture of the day. This is the first time I have done this, and I actually feel sort of "guilty". I actually had a pretty eventful day, and even took my camera with me to a few places, but I never got a picture taken. So I decided to use one I had taken of Keric a couple days ago, but never posted. Does that still count?!?!

Keric is getting better about holding his own ba-ba. When I looked over to check on him, he not only had his ba-ba, but his remote control too. Guess the only other thing he needed was to be watching "Charlie and Lola"!

Very rarely do I make something for dinner that Reagan likes. I used to think I was a picky eater, until Reagan came along!

Dinner time usually consists of Reagan telling me how much she hates whatever I have made, followed by questions of "how many bites do I need to take before I can be done", and finally, Reagan sitting at the table by herself trying to choke down enough ice cold bites of dinner to be considered "done" by either me or her Dad.

Tonight however was different. When Reagan asked me what we were having for dinner I told her I was making spaghetti. I was surprised when her response was "Oh good! YUM!" We sat down to eat, and not only did Reagan eat everything on her plate without even ONCE asking how many bites she had to take, she finished her dinner before Cameron!

I was shocked! Guess I'll have to make Spaghetti more often!

Tonight I went to our wards Enrichment Night Activity. This meant Dad and Bubby got to have a boys night.

Before I left Chris told me that he and Bubby were gonna watch bad movies, eat pizza and drink lots of root beer while Mommy was gone. I was really worried about leaving them. :)

When I got home however, they were eating leftover chicken, watching "Hell's Kitchen" and playing on the computer.

Guess they had a tame boys night out this time! ha ha

Tonight Cameron received his Bobcat award at Pack Meeting. It was fun to go watch him. He had all four of his parents there, and got to give both Shannon and I little mother's pins, which was a really nice surprise for me. After Pack Meeting we had brownies and ice cream to celebrate.

Congratulations Cameron!

By complete and total accident, Chris stumbled upon a cartoon, that for whatever reason Bubby just LOVED.

He not much of a T.V. kid. Sometimes he will "watch" T.V. on my lap, or in his bouncy, but he never has gotten into it like he did this cartoon. He loved it so much, that I recorded it on the DVR so he could watch it again. It was entertaining enough I could actually leave the room for more then 30 seconds! I don't think he even noticed I was gone!

It's a little cartoon called "Charlie and Lola". I have never watched it before, but it is kind of cute. It's about a little brother and sister and they have English accents. Chris says it's the English version of Cameron and Reagan.

Whatever it is...it is a new favorite for Keric. I sat him on the couch, with his remote control and he was entertained for quite awhile. I even got the bathroom cleaned while he watched. That has never happened before!

It was so funny to hear him in here laughing away.

What a kid! :) He really does have his very own little personality and attitude.

Oh, my lazy little boy! Just like rolling over, and sitting up, Keric has no desire to walk!

He SHOULD be pulling himself up to things, and trying to walk, but he's not. Like all the other things he should be doing now...I try not to stress out about it, and the fact that he is NOT doing them.

Chris was trying to get him to "walk" by holding him up and walking around with him. Bubby had different ideas...his way of walking...pulling his legs up in the air, and letting Daddy carry him around. This picture actually looks like he is putting his legs down on the ground...but rest assured...it's only a photo "illusion"!

What am I gonna do with this lazy boy! I hope one day he decides to do SOMETHING!

Slowly but surely, the bathroom in the basement is taking shape. Chris worked all yesterday afternoon, and into the early morning hours. He said he slipped into bed at 4:00 a.m.! I knew he had come in...but I was too tired to notice what time! Poor guy!

This afternoon after church Bubby and I went down to inspect what Daddy had accomplished while we were selfishly sleeping.

We now have a tub complete with plumbing...or at least all the stuff that needs to be underneath to eventually get water IN the tub.

It's coming along!!

Keric has been saying more constant sounds lately, so I have been trying to get him to say the M constant sound, and maybe finally say Ma-Ma!

This was his response to me! Every time I would say: "say, Ma-Ma" he would LAUGH and laugh at me. Apparently he thought my request was funny.

Oh well...hopefully someday...and the sooner, the better! :)

February 20, 2008

Very RARELY do I ever see Keric this mad! In fact, I'm not sure I remember the last time I did. The picture doesn't even do the tantrum justice!

After Chris got home from work, he went down and spent some time working in the basement. He asked me if I could come and help him for a little while. So Bubby and I went downstairs. Usually he is happy as can be down there, as long as he has a toy or something to keep him entertained. This was not the case tonight.

I'm not sure if it was the loud saw that was making him so upset, or if he was just mad to begin with, and the loud noise was making it worse? It seemed like the more the saw was on, the louder he would cry, and the redder his face would get!

Finally we finished up, and the saw was turned off. He calmed down a little, and when I picked him up and took him upstairs, he was totally fine. Guess he doesn't like the basement project?

Today I had to take Bubby into the Dr. for another ear check to make sure his ear infections had cleared up, and also for his 9 month check up. His regular Dr. has been out on maternity leave, so we have had to see another one these last two times. I hate change, and I hate having to go in and "start all over" with someone new, even if it is only temporary.

There was good and bad news. Bubby's ear infections haven't completely healed all the way. He didn't seem to concerned, he said he may just not have had enough of the amoxicilin, or he may just not have responded to it like most babies do. So we are trying another antibiotic to see if we can get rid of the ear infections and the cold. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, poor little guy has had a cold for a month!

His 9 month check went well. He is still not totally "caught up", but that's OK. He's still kind of little. He weighed in at a whopping 19 pounds 2 oz which is in the 27th percentile for his age. That was a jump from his 6 month when he was only in the 20th percentile for weight. He is 28.75 inches tall which is in the 67th percentile also up quite a bit from the 6 month where he was only in the 40th. His head however, is a different story. We're hoping it's just full of brains! His head measured in at 18.1 inches and that's the 71st percentile, also up from last check which was the 70th!

I am glad for the most part that he is "catching up". He still has some milestones to meet, and I probably need to be better about not doing so much for him, and "making" him work a little harder! All in all, he is a healthy, and a very happy baby, and for that...I am grateful!!! Love you Bubby!!!

For Valentine's day my mom sent our family a Valentine's Day package. One of the things she sent was some money for a Papa Murphys Heart Pizza. I told Cam and Reag that we would have a heart pizza on Valentine's day, but that was before I knew that Chris had other plans. :)

So we used our Valentine's money for a heart pizza today. I was a little surprised they were still selling them! So here is our Heart Pizza courtesy of Mama Lynn!

Thanks Mom! It was Yummy!!

Today was Bubby's first group play date! I had been looking forward to getting out of the house and just hanging out with some other mom's for a couple of hours. This morning when I was telling Chris about what we were going to do today, Chris was praising Bubby for choosing a play group that was basically ALL GIRLS! He kept telling Bubby to be nice to all the "ladies" and to try not to "lead any of them on" with his long eye lashes and cute smile. Of course Bubby thought all this talk was just hilarious. I think the expressions Daddy was making as he was talking and the silly voice he was using were more of what was so funny.

Anyway, we got to our play group, and Keric seemed a little intimidated. Usually he loves being around other kids, and laughs and squeals with delight. Today, he just kind of hung back and played with one little toy sort of reluctantly, and mostly sat on my lap. About half way through the play group, he was asleep. So much for impressing all the "ladies".

When we got home we talked to Daddy at work. We told him how the play group went and when he found out that Bubby fell asleep during most of it, he said "Just like his Daddy, all talk when it comes to "ladies".

Oh well...I had a good time at least! Thanks Melissa, Alison, and Lissel!

Poor Keric. I dragged him all over town today! Dr.'s office, Grocery Shopping, picking up prescriptions... the poor little guy hardly got a nap today! It seemed like every time he fell asleep, I was either putting him in his car seat, or I had to take him out somewhere. When we finally got home, he was asleep again. I was going to take him out of his car seat and put him to bed, but I felt so bad about waking him up so many times that I just let him sleep in his car seat for awhile! He should be TIRED tonight! :)

As we were leaving for church this afternoon Chris said, "Hey Nati, look at the clock. You should take a picture and make this your picture of the day!" He was right. For the first time in as long as I can remember, we were actually on time today, and even a little bit early!

I know it seems like you should be able to get 5 people up and moving and ready to go to church by 1:00 p.m. but it's actually harder then it sounds, or at least it is for us. We do a better job getting us all ready to be at my Parent's 9:00 a.m. meetings then we do to ours! More often then not we end up taking two cars. Cameron, Reagan and I in one car, and Chris and Bubby following after.

Today the stars aligned, and everyone rode in the same car! There were no last minute blow out diapers that needed changed, no immediate feedings that needed to take place, no lunch or breakfast that was skipped over, and no last minute clothing disasters; lost buttons, wrinkled, rips...etc.

I wonder how long it will be before it happens again?

February 14, 2009 Valentine's Day

One of my FAVORITE traditions that our family has happens on the morning of Valentine's day. Chris and Cameron get up early, and make breakfast for Reagan and I. This however is not your ordinary breakfast. It is WAY better!

They make us heart shaped Chocolate Chip Pancakes, with Chocolate Syrup, Whip Cream and Strawberries. It's a huge sugar overload, which is why we only do it once a year, but it is SO YUMMY! Chris even cuts the strawberries into little hearts. :)

I LOVE Valentine's Day Breakfast!!!!

We took the kids to a movie tonight. Bubby actually loves going to movies. We prop him up in his baby seat and he sits and stares at the screen. He is actually really good for quite awhile. We eventually have to take him out and hold him, or feed him, but he's a pretty good movie baby.

There weren't many movies to choose from, and even though I knew it was going to be a stupid movie, we went to "Mall Cop". It had it's moments, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it.

It was still fun though.

Today Chris came home from work early, which was nice, and we went out to dinner for an early Valentine's. It wasn't anything too fancy...I mean we DO live in Tooele. haha

We went to Applebee's and ate WAY too much! Bubby even joined us, and sucked on a few french fries.

It was fun to go out on on "date". It's been awhile!

February 11, 2009

As I have said before, I love getting packages from my mom...but I love it even MORE when the package includes a shoe for my collection!

Today we got our Valentine package from my mom, and I got a Valentine Shoe to add to my other shoes! Nothing makes me more happy then new shoes...even the ones I can't wear!

Thanks Mom!

I'm getting a little tired of the "teasing" Mother Nature has been doing lately! Yesterday we had a bunch of snow fall in the morning, and by Afternoon, it had melted and was actually a fairly nice day.

So I had planned to take Bubby on a walk today, since we didn't have time to do it yesterday. When it snowed this morning, I thought, oh well...it will melt by this afternoon. Well, not so today.

Guess no walk today. Dang!

While I do laundry, I like to watch T.V. I'm a huge sucker for anything "reality". I ran across this show, that totally sucked me in! I was doing way more watching then folding I think! oops

I ran across this show, that I had never seen before. They were having some sort of "marathon", I must have watched a million episodes of it! It was called "Amazing Wedding Cakes". I was so enthralled! I can't BELIEVE what these people can do with cake! I mean seriously! How do some people get all the talent??

Anyway...I was so into the show...I didn't think to take a picture...so I had to look up my favorite one on line. These were cakes they did for a Bridal Shower. They are purses. Are those not the coolest things you have ever seen!?!? I'm afraid if it were my bridal shower...there would have been NO EATING of the cakes! :)

As with many of our projects, we seem to run into one problem after another after another. I'm not sure if these problems are foreseeable, and we just don't actually see them in time to stop them, or if I am just a walking bad luck charm and every thing I try to help with turns to crap. Whatever the case....the bathroom in the basement has seemed to turn into somewhat of a nightmare for Chris!

It started out great...in fact I thought, wow, I think Chris learned a few things from doing the office, and this bathroom is going to be a piece of cake. Well...not so much. We have had problems with the electrical, now we are running into plumbing problems, and to top it all off...we have to keep returning things!

We have returned 3 tubs, one wouldn't fit down our basement stairs, and 2 were totally chipped and damaged when we took them out of the box. One even had a huge dent in it! So we are now on tub #4 are hoping it is here to stay.

Sadly however, Chris just informed me...we are going to have to return the toilet now. The stupid people who built the house only roughed in for a 10 inch toilet, and not a standard 12 inch which was what we bought.

I'm beginning to think that the joke about our basement being finished when I am 50 years old...really isn't a joke after all!

So...back the toilet goes tomorrow. Home Depot is going to love us!

Tonight Chris and I went over to our friend's Dean and Melissa's house to hang out and play the Wii. We played all sorts of fun games, and just hung out and talked.

We set up our character's on the Wii, and when we were done, we were all a little freaked out by how much Chris' little animation character REALLY looked like him! It was kind of funny. I don't think mine looked anything like me, but his...almost a little too real.

What do you think? Freaky resemblance?

Thanks Dean and Melissa! Next time..our house! :)

February 6, 2009

For whatever reason, our neighborhood has been having problems with the electricity going out for HOURS at a time! It is so annoying! Today was one of those days! At about 1:45 p.m. the electricity went off. I waited for about 20 mins, and nothing. So I called the Electric Company. I swear I'm going to have to put them on my speed dial! Anyway, I got the same recording about knowing about the outage, people are on the scene to fix it, and it should be fixed by 4:30!!! Jeez! What a joke!

So I decided I was getting out of the house. Anne had invited us all up for dinner to celebrate Maren and Dave's birthday's this month, and also because Denise was down from Vernal with her kids. She had asked me to bring Ice Cream, so I needed to go to Wal Mart anyway.

I just decided to stay there for awhile since I was going home to no power! As I was walking around I saw all the Valentine's and Valentine candy and I decided that I was going to be a nice aunt this year. Every year we end up giving the cousins that live around here a little Valentine, or a little Halloween treat, but I never do anything for my Nieces and Nephew's who DON'T live here.

So I bought some little Valentines, and made up some Valentine packages to send out tomorrow. I don't know that I'll be on top of it enough to do it every year, or even for every major holiday, but hopefully they know that they are loved by their Aunt Nati in Tooele, even if they don't get a package.

I finally took Bubby in to see why he has been so grouchy lately and why he hasn't been sleeping through the night anymore! Poor little guy had a double ear infection!

We got some medicine and drops for his ears, and the Dr. hopes he will be sleeping through the night in about 3 days.

He's a little trooper. As yucky as I'm sure he feels, he still is a pretty happy little guy. He finally got to take a nap today, for 3 hours! Thank goodness for medicine!

February 4, 2009

This was my BEST friend today!! A big Diet Dr. Pepper fountain drink from Maverick! (Notice it is basically all gone.) I would have preferred the real stuff, but well...ya know...I'm fat, so can't be doing that!

Keric decided that it was time to wake up at 3:30 this morning! Usually I can give him a bottle, and snuggle him back to sleep, but he wasn't having ANY of that this morning. He didn't go back to sleep until about 5:30 a.m. after screaming his head off for two hours! Chris had to get up at 6, and then Keric was promptly back up again at 6:30. I was DYING! It also didn't help that I didn't go to bed until about midnight! So so stupid!

Try as I may, I couldn't get him to take a nap this morning. I knew he was tired, he cried and cried and cried, but would not fall asleep for more then 5 or 10 mins. This of course meant, that I also didn't get to take a nap this morning!

Wednesday is half day at the Elementary school, so I had to be in Grantsville by 1:00to pick up the kids from school.

I was supposed to have Activity Day's today, but I couldn't get a key to the church, and I couldn't get any of the stuff that we needed for our activity, so I had to run around trying to catch girls, call girls and make sure people knew it was canceled.

Of course Keric finally fell asleep at like 3:30, but I couldn't make myself sleep because I don't like knowing Cameron and Reagan are being "left alone" downstairs and I can't bribe them into taking naps too.

So....my caffeine helped not only keep me awake, but made me a MUCH nicer mom, at least I think! I'm flippin going to bed at 7 tonight! I wish Chris would hurry up and get home!

Whew...what a day!

After we took Cameron to Scouts, Reagan wanted to watch cartoon's. She sat Bubby down next to her, and turned the T.V. on. Bubby thinks he needs to have his OWN control, or at least A control, so I give him the one to the stereo to play with, since he can't do too much damage with that.

A fun filled afternoon of cartoons, or "fartoons" as Reagie used to call them, with your own control in your hand! What more could a kid ask for??

February 2, 2009

Since we don't live in a place with Groundhog's, I didn't have a picture of a Groundhog for today, so I guess you'll have to look at another picture of Bubby.

I love it when Keric finally figures out one of his toys and actually plays with it. Today he was on the floor with his little jungle gym. Normally he just lies there and stares up at it, usually waiting for me to come move the animals around, or push the bears tummy to make him sing and light up. Lately, however he has been grabbing at the little animals himself, and he has even figured out how to push the little bears stomach to make the song play.

It was fun to just sit and watch him. I don't know how he got himself parallel to it, but he did that all on his own. :) He won't roll over, but he manages to move himself around when he wants to!

Yes, you do see a sock on his hand. That is a story for another day!

February 1, 2009

Today after Church, we were invited up to Maren and Dave's house to watch the Super Bowl. It was fun. I never really get into the game that much, I usually don't even know who is playing, but this year it was a close game and a fun game to watch. I apparently was so into talking and watching the game, that I didn't realize I hadn't taken a picture of all of us watching the Super Bowl, until everyone had already gone! Dang it!

I made Chris stop at this store on the way home so I could take a picture of their Marquis for my daily photo. I saw it on the way up to Maren's house, and I had to laugh out loud. There are days when I feel the SAME way! Guess that's how I got this way! Tredmill again tomorrow! yea!
