We took Keric for his very first bike ride tonight. It was a nice night, and we needed something to do...plus heaven knows we both could use the exercise! As you can tell by the picture, he HATED his helmet! He screamed and screamed and SCREAMED until we got moving, and then he stopped. After we stared going along, he started to be much happier. He still held onto the helmet, trying to pull it off once in awhile, but he was more happy about being outside I think. He even fell asleep on his little bike ride. He looked so cute in his big blue helmet! He's such a big boy!! Hopefully next time we go on a bike ride, he won't be so upset.

We went over to visit Mamma Anne tonight. It was so nice outside, we all decided to sit out on the porch while the kids ran around in the yard. When we got ready to go, I discovered that my little man has truly become an expert crawler! His little feet were SO DIRTY, and his little knees were all red. He's getting really fast, and obviously doesn't mind crawling around on anything and in everything.

Today was SO hot, I decided to give the poor kids a break and set up the "big" pool, which turned out to not be so big! I got it all set up, and they were so excited to jump in, but then they decided it was just too cold! You can see by the look on Reagan's face, that she is not loving the water. I must be way too fat, way too old, or both because I thought it felt good! I stood in there for awhile with Bubby, but he screamed bloody murder the entire time! He is so picky about the temperature of his water! So he didn't even swim today, but Cam and Reag swam for awhile despite the cold. Silly kids!

Better late than never right? We have had a little garden spot in our backyard forever, but a garden has never been planted there. We decided to give it a shot this year. We are a little late...probably a lot late at getting it planted, but we got it done tonight. We planted all sorts of things. Corn, cantaloupe, peas, beans, pumpkins, watermelon, carrots, broccoli, cucumbers, and strawberries. We'll see if any of them grow. :)

I found out last night that I made it into the 2nd round of the scrap booking contest that I entered last week. I was SO excited and a little surprised that I made it through. I don't have any idea how many people they chose to move on to the second round, but there were a LOT of people who entered.
After I looked at the kit last night, I had an idea pop into my head and I couldn't wait to get downstairs and get it all "scrapped out". It isn't exactly what I saw in my head, it kind of evolved but I was happy with the finished product.
Now I just have to wait and find out if I make it into round 3! I HATE waiting!

Today Mamma Anne took all of us to the Living Planet Aquarium for the day. I had never been there before, but it was actually really fun.
The kids got to touch Sting Rays, look at all sorts of fish, frogs, and basically anything else you might find in the water.
I was surprised at how much Bubby seemed interested in what he was looking at. He would lean forward in his little stroller, and honestly acted like he was watching the fish. I would point to things and tell him what they were, and he would act like he was listening to me. He refused to touch the Sting Ray. I think the thing that upset him most, was simply that the water was too cold.
It was a fun day. Thanks Mamma Anne!

Today Bubby and I tried something new. We went to story time at the Purple Cow Book store. It was kind of fun. There were only like 5 kids there and Bubby was the youngest one there. He actually sat very nicely and listened to the stories I was really surprised.
After they read the kids stories they had a little activity for them. Keric got to color a picture. He actually did make a few little marks on his page, but mostly he just wrinkled it up.
It was kind of a fun thing to do, and it got us out of the house for an hour or so. Maybe we will have to go again.

Three years and counting! I can't believe that it has been 3 years since Chris and I got married. In many ways it seems like it was just yesterday, and in other ways it feels like we have been together forever...in a good way! :)
I made a little Anniversary cake...(as you can see by my sad attempt, this is exactly why I leave the birthday cakes to Chris!) We had Pizza with the kids, and we also got some Spumoni ice-cream to go with our cake. I chose that one, because that was the ice-cream that the Spaghetti Factory served at our Wedding Lunch. :) It was a fun night. Kind of low key, but we did our big celebration last night, so low key was just fine! :)

This picture should be on yesterday's post, but since I just got it today, I'll put it here. :)
Collin and Jen had their baby on Sunday June 14th. She was born after a very LONG labor of 20+ hours! (Something Jen and I now have in common!) She weighed 7lbs 13oz
and her name is Violet Reva Bennion.
Seems like the Bennion side of my family is getting a lot of press lately! It started with my two sisters giving their boys the middle name Bennion, Keric's middle name is Daniel, who is my Dad, Kimball's little boy's name IS Daniel, and Violet's middle name Reva is my Grandma Bennion's name. Maybe we'll have to start doing shout outs to the other sides of the family on the next round. :)
I know I am a little biased, but Violet really is one of the prettiest little girls I think I have seen in a long time! She doesn't even have that "newborn" look to her! She is so alert, every picture I have seen of her, her eyes are wide open, and that hair is just to die for!! Oh the bows I would put in that little girls hair! :) Wish I lived closer! Bet Collin is glad I don't though. :)
Congratulations Collin and Jen! Hope we get to meet her before she gets too big! She is a keeper for sure!!

Keric is really getting good at this crawling thing. He is getting really fast, and much more adventurous.
He loves Chompie, and this morning he went looking for him. We keep Chompie's crate in our closet, and so Bubby crawled in there, and tried to get Chompie to come out to play. Chompie wasn't too sure about Bubby coming right up to his crate, and sticking his hands in there, but he eventually came out to play with Bubby, and he couldn't have been happier.

Keric has started "crawling" and is now wanting to stand up all the time. This usually means he sits and screams with his arms raised above his head until someone comes and lifts him up and holds him while he "stands".
Lately however he has figured out how to stand himself up on the couch. He positions himself in the corner, and then uses the arm rest to lift himself up. It's pretty funny to watch.
I was so anxious for him to become mobile, but now I'm not so sure. He's kind of becoming a big handful!

Today I took Keric in for his one year check up. We got in a little late, because his Dr. was way backed up from being on maternity leave.
I was expecting a HUGE number on the scale, but the scale has never been real kind to poor Bubby. He feels like he weighs 30 lbs or more, but he was only 22 lbs ad 3 oz. I was a little shocked. As you can see by the picture, he too was disappointed at the number.

Daniel Kimball Bennion 6/9/09
Kimball and Elaine provided the picture for today! :) I am an Aunt again, and this is Bubby's newest cousin! It's finally a boy cousin too!
Little Daniel Kimball Bennion was finally born today at 9:45 a.m. after being four days late! His poor Mommy! He is a big boy! I don't think Keric weighed anywhere NEAR 8lbs until he was about 3 months old! Daniel is 8 lbs 15 oz. I was hoping they would give him the middle name of Keric so Daniel and Keric could have opposite names, but alas...he was named after his Dad and not his cousin. Go figure?
Congratulations Kimball and Elaine! We are excited to meet your little guy. I'm sure by the time we get to see him, he and Bubby will be about the same size! :)

Lately whenever we go in to check on Bubby, or to wake him up in the morning or after his nap we find him in this position. Chris calls it the stink bug position. I guess I'm not familiar enough with stink bugs. I don't know HOW a person can comfortably sleep like this, but he seems to really enjoy it. I now know he is tired and ready for his nap when I find him curled up like this on the floor or on the couch rocking back and forth with his little eyes closed, "singing" to himself. My funny little stink bug!
Oh and just as a side note: yes...you do not see a crib sheet on his bed. This is not because he doesn't have one! He does not have a sheet on his mattress for one reason and one reason only....every night he has a big pee out! I'm talking HUGE, like I have literally had to give him a quick bath at 3 in the morning more than once. The pee out is usually what wakes him up..he is all soaked when I go in to get him!
I have tried every diaper on the shelf that "guarantees" no leaks... and none of them work! I was so tired of washing his sheet every morning, only to have to take it off 12 hours later and do it again, that I just took it off for good. He has gone ALMOST a week with out a leaking incident so I may put it back on here in the next couple of days. I promise we really are NOT white trash, and Mom you don't need to mail Bubby a crib sheet. :)

This just cracks me up! My two kids, playing on the couch! If Chompie would crawl...I'm pretty sure Bubby would start! Chompie has always laid on the couch hanging over the arm for some odd reason...before I knew it, Keric was doing the same thing, and of course Chompie jumps up there with him. He always has to be the "protector"!
Maybe I should focus on teaching Chompie to crawl and walk on two legs instead of Keric! Funny little mimic boys! :)

For as long as I can remember I always wished I had really long beautiful hair. Chris has always liked my hair long, so after we got married, I just let it grow. Well...we are going on 3 years now, and my hair was undoubtedly long, but it was far from beautiful! It was getting to the point where I was just putting my hair up in a pony tail everyday, and it was as Reagie used to say "A no sessy!"
I also wasn't really enjoying my hair being YANKED, not just pulled, by bubby all the time. He was using my hair to pull himself up to a standing position!
So today I had had enough! I called Shannon and asked her if I could get my hair done today, and I had her whack it off. She took almost 10 inches off of it! I wasn't even sad when I saw the long ponytail in the garbage!
So this is my new hair-do. I feel much less "frumpy" and a little more of a "hip" Mom now. I was a little nervous for Chris to see it when he got home from work, but he actually really likes it! WHEW! :) Thanks again Shannon!

Bubby has now entered the terrible two's stage! Yes, he skipped year one, and went right to year 2. He has been throwing tantrums lately like nothing I have ever seen. He has quite the scream on him. Today he was mad that I put him in his jumpy and he was throwing himself back, throwing his head back, and pushing up on his tip toes all while screaming and giving himself a very attractive red/purple face! I'm not sure, but he may be a little bit spoiled!?!
